How to design LED lighting for outdoor building

  In the architectural landscape LED lighting design, it can be roughly divided into the following steps: 

1.audience target

  Buildings can be seen from different goals and angles, but before the overall design, a specific goal must be determined as the main audience goal.

3.surrounding conditions and scenery

  The surrounding environment and the shadow of the scene will affect the illumination required by the subject. If the surrounding area is dark, you'll need some light to illuminate your subject. If the surrounding area is bright, the light must be increased to make the subject stand out.


4.resolution required lighting effects

  Due to the divergence of the building's appearance, there may be a different lighting effect, which may be more uniform or have strong light-to-dark transitions; it may also be a flatter representation or a more active representation, depending on the properties of the building itself.


5.choose the right light source

  The choice of light source should consider factors such as light color, color rendering, performance, and lifespan. The light color has a considerable relationship with the color of building exterior materials. Generally speaking, golden and yellow-brown stones are more suitable for irradiation with warm light, and the light source is high-pressure sodium lamp or halogen lamp.


6.desired lighting resolution

  The required illuminance mainly depends on the light and shade of the surrounding conditions and the color depth of the building exterior wall materials. The recommended illuminance values are for the main facade. Generally speaking, the illuminance of the secondary facade is half that of the main facade, and the three-dimensionality of the building can be expressed by the difference in light and shade between the two surfaces. outdoor architectural lighting


7. choose the right light fixture

  Generally speaking, the angle of the square projection line is larger; the angle of the circular light is smaller; the effect of the wide-angle light is relatively general, but not suitable for telephoto; the narrow-angle light is suitable for long-distance projection, but the average power is poor when using close-range.


8.illuminance and number of lamps

  After the above steps are completed, determine the number of lamps and lanterns according to the illuminance of the site selection of light sources, lamps, and installation locations. The effect after trial installation may be enough to place expectations. The exterior of the building is represented by manipulating light projections at night, the result of which can be quite different from the daytime experience. Therefore, in the LED lighting engineering design, the result is not necessarily the same as the daytime result, but mainly expresses the characteristics of the building.
